A survival action RPG where you wake as the Flameborn and push back a creeping fog across Embervale. Co‑op supports up to 16 players. Enshrouded works because the loop respects your time. You scout a ruin, kite a patrol, then mark a shortcut you will need when the Shroud timer starts to bite. Combat is clean. Dodges have honest iframes, shields matter, and elements push you toward smart loadouts instead of hoarding. Bosses sell patterns you can learn rather than stat walls. When a stagger lands and a friend threads a charged shot through the gap, it clicks.
Building is the other half. Voxel tools feel forgiving, so ramps, arches, and skylights snap together without a fight. What starts as a shack becomes a layered base with workshops, farms, and routes that tame a rough hill. NPCs moving in gives the place a pulse. Crafting chains are readable, a line from ore to armor instead of a spreadsheet.
Pacing is solid in co‑op. One player runs a dungeon key, another scouts a safe path, a third holds a camp when the fog rolls in. Solo play works, just slower, and pathing can hiccup when builds get dense. Early Access means balance shifts and big updates add new toys, sometimes with rough edges on day one. Still, the hours slip by. Another wall to brace, another cave to light, one more chest before night.
Verdict: grounded survival, sharp fights, and base building that keeps you tinkering.
