Review

Pearl Abyss pitches a single‑player action RPG that leans on contact. Strikes bite, parries shove, and enemies fold into the environment, which keeps brawls readable even when numbers climb. Travel is fast and layered, horse momentum, grapples, and climb lines turn cliffs and forts into routes rather than walls. Towns feel lived in, with vendors and side setups that pull you into detours without losing the main thread. The camera holds close, which sells impact and faces, and the BlackSpace tech pumps out dense crowds and large bosses with little shimmer.
Questions remain. Open‑world sprawl can sap pacing if quests over‑tutorialize, and performance on mid‑range GPUs will need careful settings once crowds, weather, and large creatures stack. If the campaign keeps introducing new tools and enemy types at a smart clip, this could be a confident, modern take on a classic mercenary fantasy.
Verdict
A punchy, cinematic open‑world RPG that bets on tactile combat and dense towns.
