Review

Echoes understands why fixed cameras still work. Angles stage threats, sound cues do as much as shadows, and combat is about spacing, stance, and committing to shots. Resource pressure is honest. You can win most fights if you prepare, but ammo and healing never feel trivial, so you learn to scout, lure, and finish cleanly. Puzzles tend to read fair once you have the pieces, and the map loops back in neat ways that cut travel time on retries.
The presentation leans on crisp materials and moody lighting, with a soundtrack that knows when to get out of the way. Two caveats. Difficulty spikes can bite if you hoard too hard or miss optional gear, and backtracking will test patience if you skip locks and notes. When routes click, the game flows.
Verdict: authentic survival horror with modern polish and smart routing.
