Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches on October 6, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by Fuse Games and published by Secret Mode, the game takes Star Wars racing back beyond podracing alone, with landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders, and podracers competing across an underground Galactic League.
For PC players, there is no mystery around the DRM this time.
Denuvo Is Confirmed On Steam
The Steam page explicitly lists “Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-Tamper”, alongside a 5-machine activation limit. The developers have also addressed the question directly in the official Steam FAQ, confirming that Star Wars: Galactic Racer will use Denuvo on PC.
That makes this considerably clearer than games where players have to dig through an EULA or wait for a late store update. Denuvo is already part of the PC package before launch.
The game also uses Epic Online Services for cross-platform multiplayer and friend management. According to the FAQ, Steam players need the EOS redistributable installed for crossplay, while signing into an Epic Games account is required if they want to manage non-Steam friends.
Another Denuvo Release Arrives At An Interesting Time
Galactic Racer arrives during an unusually turbulent period for Denuvo. Hypervisor bypasses changed the landscape earlier this year, DenuvOwO has reportedly disbanded following the legal pressure surrounding voices38, and completely different approaches are still appearing.
Most recently, RUNE reportedly removed Denuvo and VMProtect entirely from Assassin’s Creed Mirage, rather than simply bypassing the protection. That does not tell us what will happen with Galactic Racer, but it shows why every newly confirmed Denuvo game is being watched more closely than before.
A racing game with online multiplayer is also a different target from a traditional single-player release. Even if the anti-tamper layer were eventually defeated, crossplay, online services, and server-dependent features remain separate parts of the experience.
For launch day, though, the status is straightforward: Star Wars: Galactic Racer will use Denuvo Anti-Tamper on PC, with a five-machine activation limit.
If you are planning to race on PC anyway, the Steam version is currently listed with around 23% off on Instant Gaming, making it worth checking before paying the full launch price.
