Community posts and reports suggest the main culprit so far is server overload. In many cases, the game throws an ARMR0002 (matchmaking failed) error or leaves players stuck in a login queue that never seems to move. Recent threads on Reddit describe people who simply can’t connect in regions like Europe, even with a stable internet connection and other online games running without issues.
Developer Embark has already acknowledged the situation. In updates on Discord, the team says it’s investigating problems with servers, voice chat, and the party system, and as an emergency measure it rolled out a login queue to reduce the impact. That helps with overall stability, but it also increases waiting times before each session. So far, there’s no clear timeline for when things will be “fully back to normal.”
If you’re running into network errors, it’s worth checking the official server status and announcements (Discord, Twitter/X) before you start tweaking your firewall, DNS, or router. Community guides point out that, right now, most issues are on the server side—local tweaks might help in edge cases, but they won’t fix queues or disconnects caused by high demand on the backend.
