Alabaster Dawn
Alabaster Dawn enters Early Access on May 7, 2026 on PC and Linux. Developed and published by Radical Fish Games, it’s an action RPG built on fast combat, puzzle-heavy dungeons, and a world warped into a wasteland after the shadow of Nyx fell and the gods vanished. You play as Juno, the Outcast Chosen, waking up to an impossible task: rebuild what was lost while fighting through a curious, shifting world that’s as much about movement and exploration as it is about damage numbers. Consoles are planned, but not dated.

Review

Alabaster Dawn has an uphill job in the best way. It’s following CrossCode, which means people are showing up expecting tight combat, smart puzzles, and a world that rewards curiosity. The good news is the pitch sounds aligned with what Radical Fish does well: a fast, responsive action loop with systems layered on top, not bolted on.
The combat toolbox looks built for momentum. Multiple weapons, elemental options, and gem-driven enchantments suggest a game where your build changes how you fight, not just how hard you hit. That matters because action RPGs often drift into single-solution play. A system that encourages swapping tools mid-fight and chasing different synergies is the kind of thing that keeps bosses and dungeons from becoming routine.
The other half is traversal and puzzles. CrossCode’s best moments came from movement challenges that felt like part of the world, not separate puzzle rooms. If Alabaster Dawn keeps that same “read the space, then execute” rhythm, it will have a strong identity even in Early Access.
The Early Access caveat is obvious: pacing and content variety. Players will forgive missing chapters, but they won’t forgive rough edges that make the core loop feel unfinished. Balance is also delicate. If upgrades spike too hard, encounters flatten; too slow, and the game feels stingy.
Verdict: A promising action RPG with the right DNA for combat-and-puzzle fans, with Early Access success resting on polish, pacing, and enough variety to keep its great systems from feeling repetitive.
