BOMBANANA!
BOMBANANA! releases on September 2, 2026, for PC. Developed by Lefto Studio and published by TARK, this three-player cooperative puzzle game puts a blind monkey, a deaf monkey, and a mute monkey inside a minivan converted into a mobile bomb-disposal workshop. Every player receives a different part of the information needed to survive: one can physically manipulate the bomb without seeing it properly, another can read the disposal manual but cannot speak, and the third can observe both the bomb and frantic gestures without hearing the conversation. Bomb modules, gestures, voice communication, escalating levels, and strict timers turn each defusal into a deliberately chaotic test of teamwork.

Review

BOMBANANA! takes the communication puzzle and deliberately removes the most convenient ways players would normally share information. Its three roles are not cosmetic. Each monkey experiences the same bomb under different limitations, forcing the group to develop a communication system while the timer continues running.
The blind monkey is responsible for physical interaction but cannot properly inspect visual information. The mute monkey has access to instructions without being able to explain them verbally. The deaf monkey can see what is happening but cannot hear the other players. Successful teams therefore need gestures, descriptions, memory, and plenty of improvisation.
Bombs are divided into modules with separate rules. As levels become harder, the challenge comes from combining more complicated instructions with increasingly poor communication rather than simply shortening the timer. That should make successful runs feel earned because improvement depends on the group itself becoming better at sharing information.
The first-person presentation keeps each player focused on their own limited perspective. Built-in voice chat and character gestures are especially important because misunderstanding is part of the intended design rather than an accidental multiplayer problem.
The strict three-player requirement is also its largest limitation. There is no solo substitute or flexible two-player configuration, so getting the correct group together is mandatory. Repeated play could also weaken puzzles once players memorize specific module solutions.
Verdict: A smart communication game that turns three deliberately incompatible perspectives into frantic, funny, and genuinely cooperative bomb disposal.
