Review

Odyssey embraces the RPG turn fully, and it benefits from the commitment. Engraving bonuses, gear sets, and ability trees let you shape builds that meaningfully alter combat. A hunter crit build melts forts from range, while warrior and assassin paths reward aggressive crowd control or silent dismantling. The map is huge but not empty, anchored by historical hubs, solid dungeon pockets, and coastal routes tuned for ship upgrades. Quest writing is variable yet often witty, and the choice system changes not just endings but relationships that persist for dozens of hours.
Combat reads clearly. Parry and dodge windows are forgiving, perfects feel great, and mercenary nemeses keep pressure up. Naval systems are straightforward, a breezy loop that breaks up on‑foot grinding. PC performance is decent if you meet the listed targets, though cities can hitch on weaker CPUs, and texture pop‑in appears when streaming fast by horse. Microtransaction shortcuts exist, but the base XP pacing is fine if you mix side content.
Verdict: A generous, flexible RPG with satisfying combat and a memorable Greece to get lost in.
