Metro Exodus launched on February 15, 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, later arriving on Steam and receiving an Enhanced Edition on PC plus native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrades. It was developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver. Artyom leaves the tunnels and rides the Aurora across post‑war Russia, chasing a real life on the surface. Exodus blends open zones with tighter story missions, pushing you to forage, craft, and pick your shots. Time of day, weapon wear, filters, and stealth tools shape every encounter.

Review

When the train stops, the game breathes. The Volga and Caspian zones are full of small stories and risk, and the Taiga flips into a forest stealth run that changes your tempo. Gunplay is deliberate. Dirty weapons jam if you ignore the workbench, suppressors and subsonics let you control noise, and mutants punish sloppy lighting. It sounds and looks great, with 4A’s lighting still doing heavy lifting on modern PCs.
The structure can feel uneven if you wander at night under‑geared, and some stealth reads are old‑school. Even so, Exodus stands out as a moody survival shooter that rewards patience.
Verdict: atmospheric, ambitious, and worth the trip, especially in Gold Edition.
