Football Manager 2024
Football Manager 2024 released on November 6, 2023 for PC (Steam, Epic, Microsoft Store) and macOS, with Console and Touch/Mobile versions on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android in the same window. Developed by Sports Interactive and published by SEGA. It is the series in a sharper groove: cleaner match highlights, smarter off‑ball runs, and a transfer room that finally feels like a place, not a spreadsheet. Saves carry over from FM23, Japanese leagues arrive fully licensed, and the usual rabbit hole of scouting, tactics, and staff wrangling is still here, only tidier.

Review

Football Manager 2024 plays to its strengths. The match engine reads better. Players make sensible angles, pressing looks less like a light switch, and first touches cut down on comedy. Highlights tell the story cleanly, so you can spot where a shape broke instead of guessing. Off the pitch, the UI trims clicks. News, scouting, and analysis sit closer to hand, and the new transfer flow invites real back‑and‑forth with agents.
Progression shows up in small wins. Set pieces take fewer menus, recruitment focuses quicker, and staff advice wastes less time. Licensing lands with weight too. Premier League branding and the full J.League sell the save before a ball moves. Long runs feel better because systems stop fighting you. The loop becomes match, tweak, scout, repeat.
It is not spotless. Back‑post defending still wobbles, and keepers can flatline on crosses. Data can smother new players if they rush, and training needs a lighter touch out of the box. Performance is light but shader caching can hitch on a fresh install. Even so, the rhythm is here. Saturday comes, and you chase a one‑goal win that will not let you sleep.
Verdict: smarter matches and cleaner menus, the habit‑forming sim still in form.
