Review

Sparking! ZERO hits fast. Dashes snap, cancels feel clean, and momentum flips off one greedy vanish. The camera stays readable most of the time, which keeps beam clashes and rush strings exciting instead of noisy. The roster is the draw, sure, but the real win is how distinct fighters feel. Some poke and stall, others snowball once a transform lands. You start picking matchups like a card game.
Modes help the grind. Custom battles and shareable rulesets keep the meta moving, and the story routes, while uneven, nail a few great swings, especially when a What‑If fight tilts your team comp. Online is solid in busy regions. Input latency exists, but short sets keep salt low and rematches quick.
Caveats: stage hazards can obscure tells, and certain supers still overrule spacing. On PC, heavier crowds or big ultimates can nibble frames on older GPUs. The training tools are better than old entries, though notation still hides useful detail. Even with bumps, the brawl loop sings.
Verdict: loud, fast arena fighting that rewards reads and matchup knowledge.
