Review
SUPER ROBOT WARS Y plays like a clean, fast SRPG sandbox. Maps are compact, turn order is readable, and the new Assist Link adds small puzzle layers to each turn. You line up main attacks, then trigger assists to finish a boss or squeeze extra EXP. Pilots still carry signature Spirits, so a smart cast and timely buffs can flip a fight. It feels good to build toward a favorite unit and watch it finally punch above its weight.
Presentation helps. Attack cuts are flashy without dragging, and the roster mix leans into crowd‑pleasers. Fanservice is here, but the game is practical about it: lots of crossover chatter, then back to positioning and damage math. The upgrade loop, as ever, is the hook. Credits and parts flow at a fair pace, and tuning frames, weapons, and skills gives real gains instead of empty numbers.
Caveats: early maps are gentle, and veterans may coast for a few hours before the AI starts to bite. Some battle animations repeat a little too often if you watch every cut, so you will toggle skips to keep tempo. The Premium Sound Pack is locked to the Ultimate, and Denuvo sits on the Steam build. Even with those gripes, the tactics core lands. It is comfort food for SRW fans, with just enough new toys to matter.
Verdict: polished crossover tactics, light early but hard to put down once the builds click.
