Train Sim World 6 releases on September 30, 2025 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Developed by Dovetail Games and published by Dovetail Games. It moves the series forward with three new routes on day one, smarter random events, and cleaner announcements that make services feel alive. You run British seaside rails on the Riviera Line, handle busy New Jersey commuter stops on the Morristown Line, then push German intercity traffic across Leipzig–Dresden. It is the familiar hands‑on sim, only tighter: learn the cab, respect signals, keep to the clock, and manage weather that can turn a simple run into a scrap for seconds.

Review

Train Sim World 6 trims friction without losing the ritual. Cabs boot faster, tutorials get to the point, and the new random events add just enough noise to keep repeat runs fresh. The three launch routes are a smart spread. The Riviera Line’s sea wall and banks teach throttle discipline, Morristown’s stop‑start cadence rewards tidy braking, and Leipzig–Dresden gives room to settle into speed and signaling. It reads less like a checklist, more like a work day with surprises.
Trains feel weighty and honest. Brakes bite with clarity, acceleration curves make sense, and cab layouts stay readable. The Deluxe locos help variety early, especially the Voyager on British services and the ALP‑45DP’s dual‑mode quirks in New Jersey. Presentation lands: weather rolls in, station PA fills space without shouting, and performance holds steady on mid PCs if you keep expectations sane.
Caveats are familiar. AI can hesitate at junctions, and the timetable can bunch up if you make mistakes recovering time. Visual settings lean practical over flashy, and older consoles may cut back crowd density. Special Edition’s grab‑bag is great value, but some TSW Compatible routes do not showcase every new feature. Even so, the loop works. Learn the cab, watch the signals, keep the schedule. The minutes slide by.
Verdict: steady, satisfying rail work with sharper tools and a good starter spread of routes.
