Review

Split Fiction thrives on variety and timing. One chapter plays like a platformer with tight wall runs, the next hands you toys fit for a heist. The camera rarely fights you, and most challenges sell the right kind of panic: short, loud, and just doable if both players commit. Combat is simple but snappy, built to set up stuns and pushes that create space for the next beat.
Co‑op chemistry does the heavy lifting. The story will not land for everyone, yet the dialogue keeps momentum and the level design makes each character feel useful. Swapping leads mid‑scene becomes second nature, and the best moments are those quiet, messy saves when your partner whiffs and you bail them out.
Caveats: solo is not the intended way to play, and a few late puzzles stretch a gimmick longer than needed. Online lobbies depend on region and cross‑platform toggles, so party up when you can. Even with small bumps, the flow holds. Talk fast, improvise, and enjoy when a set‑piece clicks on the first try.
Verdict: bright, brisk co‑op that keeps changing before it gets old.
