Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by SEGA. This package pairs a full remake of Yakuza 3 with a separate new story, Dark Ties, where you step in as Yoshitaka Mine. The remake sharpens Okinawa and Kamurocho with cleaner combat and added scenes. Dark Ties spins a focused arc with boxing‑leaning brawls and side activities that echo Gaiden’s pace.

Review

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties finds a good split between nostalgia and something sharper. The Kiwami 3 side keeps the daily rhythm that sells this series. Long walks through backstreets, heat turning small fights rowdy, and a town that distracts you with karaoke when you should be chasing a lead. Combat reads cleaner than the old remaster. Styles swap faster, inputs feel weightier, and crowds break apart without turning into stun‑lock.

Dark Ties is the wildcard. Playing as Mine shifts the mood. His move set leans on straighter punches and body blows, so reads are clean and counters hit hard. Pacing is tighter, side content is trimmed, and the focus on character beats gives the brawler flow some bite. Presentation helps both games. The Dragon Engine lights night streets well, faces sit just on the right side of stylized, and the soundtrack swings between moody and loud.

There are caveats. Early chapters still ease you in, and veterans will coast for a bit before boss checks bite. A few substories feel like repeats with new paint. On PC, the Steam page lists Denuvo and leaves full specs TBD, so expect tuning close to launch. Even with the wrinkles, the package works. Old Kiryu warmth on one side, a cleaner antagonist arc on the other.

Verdict: respectful remake plus a lean new story, easy to recommend to series fans and new players alike.
