Pax Autocratica
Pax Autocratica enters Early Access on August 10, 2026, for PC. Developed and published by Multiverse, this darkly satirical colony simulator and first-person roguelite places the player in control of an emerging totalitarian state in the Tyris System. Citizens can be shaped through propaganda, surveillance, comfort, punishment, or fear, while the ruler personally joins battlefield expeditions filled with infantry, tanks, mechs, drones, artillery, and projectile-heavy bosses. Captured enemies can be imprisoned, converted, executed, or absorbed into the colony as workers and soldiers.

Review

Pax Autocratica connects colony management to first-person warfare in a way that makes both halves depend on each other. Citizens mine, gather, research, manufacture equipment, and maintain the state. Their loyalty, fear, relationships, and living conditions can strengthen production or turn dissatisfaction into open rebellion.
Government policy is more than a passive bonus system. Propaganda, surveillance, punishment, comfort, and resource distribution affect how citizens behave and how they view the ruler. A prosperous colony can be maintained through support, but intimidation and sacrifice may create faster results at a greater long-term cost.
Combat shifts the perspective completely. The ruler joins soldiers in roguelite expeditions involving firearms, vehicles, mechs, and dense projectile patterns. Cores collected during a run modify weapons, improve the squad, or create combinations that change how the battlefield is approached.
Defeated enemies can be captured and returned to the colony. They may become citizens through conversion, serve as warnings through public punishment, or simply disappear when the regime decides they are no longer useful. This keeps battlefield choices connected to population management.
The hybrid structure is ambitious, but it creates an obvious balancing challenge. Colony systems cannot feel like downtime between battles, while FPS runs need enough variety to justify repeated expeditions. The Early Access period is expected to last around two years.
Verdict: A bold colony and FPS hybrid that turns political control, citizen behavior, and battlefield power into parts of the same unsettling simulation.
