Manor Lords
Manor Lords launched into Early Access on April 26, 2024 for PC (Steam). From Slavic Magic and published by Hooded Horse, it blends organic city‑building with tactical battles. You zone by hand, watch families grow, then pull those same villagers into muddy fights when bandits or rivals push in.

Review

The appeal is pace. Houses and workshops grow along roads you sketch, not on hard grids. Production chains need thought, since a misplaced tannery ruins a street and a bad winter ruins morale. Moments pop when the town looks alive, carts clatter through the market, and fields shift color with the season.
Combat is serviceable rather than deep, but it ties the economy together. Levies fight like people pulled from jobs, tired fast and nervous in the rain. The camera sells scale, even if pathing sometimes fumbles near gates. Performance is decent on mid PCs, though massive towns can hitch.
Caveats: tooltips still hide nuance and the UI asks for extra clicks when settlements grow. Early Access balance moves under your feet. The foundation is strong enough that you forgive the rough edges.
Verdict: grounded, satisfying builder with room to bloom.
