Lost Rift releases on September 25, 2025 for PC (Steam, Early Access). Developed and published by People Can Fly. It is a first person survival adventure shooter set across a dangerous archipelago. You start on Pioneers’ Landing, build a base on your own PvE island, then gear up for timed PvPvE expeditions where other crews want the same loot you do. Hurricanes, fires, and thick fog keep routes changing. Up to five players can team up, craft better kits, and push for extractions that actually feel risky.

Review

Lost Rift finds a decent middle ground between relaxed crafting and teeth clenched raids. The quiet half happens at home. You lay foundations, drop benches, and tune a camp that cuts downtime between sorties. It is simple plumbing, yet it matters because the best expeditions start with a good prep.

Then the switch flips. Expeditions are loud, fast, and unforgiving when greed wins. Routes through outposts and beaches feel open enough to improvise, and sightlines reward patient shooters instead of spray and pray. Weather is not just a filter. Fog hides flanks, lightning exposes you, and wind kicks debris into noisy tells. Gunfeel is clean, with recoil you can learn and enough punch to make extractions tense.

It is Early Access, so caveats apply. Balance will swing, some objectives repeat across seeds, and solo play is more work than fun. UI layers pile up in menus, and the learning curve bites until you internalize extraction timing. Performance targets modest rigs, though heavy effects and crowds can nudge frames. Still, the loop lands. Build, scout, pick a fight, and decide when to cut losses.

Verdict: solid survival foundations with spicy PvPvE runs, rough edges but promising.
