It works because the fights have texture. Positioning matters, so you slide a step for a line hit or shove a thug into a bike rack to set up a follow‑through. Jobs flip tone without losing function. A clown can be your crowd control, a boxer your finisher, a host your buffer. Hawaii adds a breezy layer to the usual city crawl, with detours that feel like jokes until they pay off.

Kasuga and Kiryu carry the pace. Side stories swing from dumb gags to small heartbreaks, and the dungeon crawl has just enough bite to make gear checks feel earned. The new island resort management looks silly then turns into a satisfying planning mini‑game.

Caveats: menus pile up as systems open, and a few late bosses lean on adds. On PC, shader compiles can hitch on first boot, but long sessions smooth out. Still, the rhythm holds.

Verdict: big‑hearted RPG that fights smart and keeps you busy.
