Happy Wheels releases on September 21, 2026, for PC. Developed by Jim Bonacci and published by Fancy Force, this Steam version brings the long-running physics-based sandbox to the platform as an ad-free release built around deliberately underprepared characters attempting dangerous user-created obstacle courses. Ragdoll physics, dismemberment, unusual vehicles, traps, community rankings, controller support, a full level editor, and access to more than five million existing user-created levels preserve the chaotic structure that made the browser original so recognizable.

Review

Happy Wheels has always been more interested in what goes wrong than in clean platforming. Each character controls a different vehicle, and the exaggerated physics make even an ordinary ramp capable of turning into a catastrophic accident. Reaching the finish line matters, but the unpredictability of getting there is the real attraction.
The Steam release keeps that structure intact. More than five million existing community levels provide an enormous backlog, while new stages can continue appearing through the integrated browser. Sorting and ranking tools should make finding worthwhile creations easier than relying on random links or old browser portals.
The level editor remains the most important feature. Players can build obstacle courses, physics experiments, elaborate traps, races, or intentionally absurd contraptions and share them directly with the community. That means the game is not dependent on a fixed developer campaign to remain active.
Controller support is a useful addition for a game where small steering adjustments and sudden corrections matter. Removing advertisements also makes this version considerably cleaner than many people remember from the browser era.
Its age is still noticeable. Visuals are deliberately simple, controls can feel awkward, and community-created stages vary wildly in quality. The humor also relies heavily on cartoon gore and physical suffering, which will not appeal to everyone.
Verdict: Still a uniquely chaotic physics sandbox, now preserved in a cleaner Steam release with its massive community level library and editor intact.
