Escape from Tarkov
Escape from Tarkov launches on November 15, 2025 for PC (Steam). It is developed and published by Battlestate Games. An extraction FPS set in the sealed city of Tarkov, it mixes unforgiving raids, realistic ballistics, and deep weapon modding. You gear up, infiltrate contested zones, scavenge under pressure, and try to reach extraction sites before other PMCs or AI Scavs cut the run short.

Review

Tarkov thrives on tension. Every raid is a series of small commitments, when to push, when to heal, when to break line of sight, and the economy makes each choice sting. Guns feel weighty, recoil and ergonomics reshaping how you approach a corridor or hillside. Sound is as important as aim, distant shots and metal creaks telegraphing danger and baiting greedy routes. The hideout and traders give long arcs to progression, while quests pull you through maps and teach angles at a steady pace. Squad play is louder but safer, information flow making or breaking fights.
A couple of cautions. The learning curve is steep, dense menus and punishing time‑to‑die will test patience, and netcode hiccups can sour otherwise clean exchanges. On PC, the Steam page lists friendly minimums but a very high recommended spec, which tracks with heavy scenes during effects and complex AI. When everything clicks, Tarkov becomes a rare loop where extraction feels like a victory on its own.
Verdict
A demanding extraction shooter where knowledge, audio, and restraint decide most raids.
