Review

Diablo 4 finds a strong early groove, then lives or dies on how much you enjoy the chase. Combat is crisp. Builds stabilize once Aspects drop and legendaries start feeding the core loop. Sorcerer and Rogue lean on speed and glass‑cannon tricks, Barbarian and Druid feel better once you unlock the right engine, and Necromancer slots neatly between minions and direct damage. The open world works as connective tissue rather than a destination. Helltides and world bosses give you reasons to roam, whisper trees keep you looting between dungeons, and mounts cut the travel boredom.

Presentation is sharp: grim art, weighty sound, clean hit feedback. Co op is painless, and cross‑play helps keep parties alive. Endgame pacing has improved with updates, though balance swings still happen around seasons and new uniques. Monetization stays on cosmetics, but the battle pass cadence can feel like homework if you try to clear every card.

Caveats: early PC patches dealt with shader hitches and network wobble, and some seasons hit softer than others. Class balance lurches, and the grind between world tiers can drag without friends. Still, when a build clicks and Nightmare affixes line up in your favor, it sings.

Verdict: crunchy ARPG combat tied to a live world, best with a build you love and a group that keeps you moving.
