DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round releases June 25, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by Team NINJA and published by KOEI TECMO, it brings the 2019 3D fighter back as a current-gen package with the full original roster, five returning DLC fighters, new costumes, and a dedicated Photo Mode. The appeal is still the series core: fast close-range pressure, Holds that punish predictable offense, Break Gauge momentum swings, and stages where a clean read can send an opponent crashing into a Danger Zone instead of simply winning neutral.

·         Additional DLC characters Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond are planned as separately purchasable collaboration DLC.

DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round feels less like a sequel and more like a cleanup pass with one clear job: make DOA6 easier to recommend in 2026. The core fighting was never the weak link. It is still sharp, fast, and slightly mean in the way good 3D fighters should be. Holds keep button-mashing honest, throws punish defensive habits, and the Break Gauge gives rounds that nice little burst of danger when someone starts snowballing.

The included DLC fighters help the roster feel healthier out of the gate. Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki all add different rhythms, so the lineup does not feel like a barebones reissue. Photo Mode is the loud new toy, and it is clearly built for fans who already like DOA’s style, but it is not just filler. Being able to pose characters, adjust expressions, and frame action shots gives the package a social, screenshot-friendly angle that fits modern fighting game communities.

The real caveat is online. A relaunch like this needs strong netcode, fast matchmaking, and clean lobby support, because a fighting game lives or dies by how good it feels against real people. Without that, the improved visuals and extra content only go so far. There is also the question of value for players who already own DOA6 and a pile of DLC, even with carry-over support helping soften the hit.

Verdict: A stronger, cleaner version of DOA6 with a better roster and useful extras, but its long-term life depends on whether the online experience finally matches the fighting.
