Assetto Corsa EVO hits where it counts, in your hands. Steering feels alive. You sense weight shift, tire load, and the tiny slide that tells you to breathe off the throttle. Brakes bite clean, trail work pays off, and curbs talk instead of punting you without warning. It reads consistent, then demanding, which is the sweet spot for a sim.
Track detail helps the rhythm. Laser‑scan accuracy turns lines into lessons you can reuse. Run Imola at dawn, swap to Suzuka in the wet, and the surface tells a different story. Cars span road metal to GT and classics, each with a clear voice. The early multiplayer step is small, sixteen cars per server, yet races feel tidy when drivers respect space. Performance is decent for an Early Access build, with big wins in VRAM use since the 0.3 update.
Caveats are honest. AI still wobbles in traffic, and pad tuning is serviceable but not special. Content is growing, so repetition creeps in if you marathon one track list. Menus are cleaner than before, still a touch utilitarian. Even so, the drive sells everything around it. One lap becomes five, then a stint you did not plan.
Verdict: sharp, readable physics that reward patience, already compelling and improving.
