You are stacking housing, industry, and defenses into a narrow footprint, then linking it all with routes that feel more like logistics in a climbing game than a flat-grid builder. When the Fog closes in, the tone shifts from “pretty city” to “hard triage.” You are juggling heat, food, production chains, and citizen stability, but the real pressure comes from how little room you have to fix mistakes. Every new tier you unlock is a reward and a risk, because expansion means more mouths, more needs, and more perimeter to defend.
What keeps it from being a checklist sim is the decision layer. DarkSwitch leans into consequential calls that can reshape the community, not just the numbers. It fits the setting. An isolated settlement living on a tree should feel brittle, and it does.
Two caveats stand out. First, the game’s tension relies on sharp feedback. If UI clarity or alerting is even slightly off, you will feel blindsided. Second, the vertical layout can magnify pathing and supply hiccups, so small routing issues may snowball.
