Review

The remaster sharpens the feel of two cult action RPGs. Combat runs quick and direct, with a dual character system that lets you switch on the fly to extend chains and cover weaknesses. Areas link into a hub‑like structure with side paths and secrets that reward curiosity, and the story leans on fate, memory, and the weight of choice. The package reads like a definitive on‑ramp for newcomers while giving returning players a cleaner presentation.
There are limits. Camera behavior in tight rooms still needs care, and the art, while improved, does not hide the series’ AA roots. Difficulty can spike when builds lag behind weapon and skill upgrades. Even so, the games hold up as brisk action adventures with a distinct tone, and having both stories in one place is a win.
Verdict
A welcome bundle that polishes two fast, character‑switching action RPGs.
