Review

Detroit trades reflex tests for decisions under pressure. Scenes play like tense dioramas, with clean inputs that let you focus on choices rather than tricky QTE timing. The best parts flow from consequence. Investigations with Connor build readable evidence webs, Kara’s escape beats sell stakes through small acts, and Markus’ activism branches give real tonal range. The presentation still holds. Performances carry nuance, the facial capture lands, and the score shifts character to character without showboating.
As a game, it is about authorship and replay. Flowcharts show missed routes, and small changes, like a line of dialogue or a drone path you noticed, can flip a scene’s outcome. Two caveats. Movement on a keyboard can feel stiff in tight spaces, and a few binary choices edge toward melodrama if you push extremes. On PC, the port is robust after patches, with mouse support and steady 60 fps on mid‑range rigs.
Verdict: stylish, choice‑driven drama that rewards replays and careful reads.
