Review

Astro Bot works because it keeps play simple and tactile. Jumps feel crisp, gadgets click, and a clean camera lets you chase coins without squinting. Levels swap ideas fast, so a beach that plays like a toy commercial gives way to a boss that asks for clean reads instead of tricks. It is bright without feeling soft.
The DualSense is the star. Triggers hum with tension, the speaker pops at the right moments, and haptics sketch surfaces under your feet. Collectibles are more than filler, since they nudge you into odd corners where the art and jokes live. It is hard not to smile when the game leans into a deep‑cut cameo.
Caveats: some late challenges spike harder than the rest, and a few camera angles get tight in crowded rooms. Still, the flow holds. Short levels, steady variety, and a tone that never sours.
Verdict: joyful platforming that shows off the PS5 without the fluff.
