Marvel's Wolverine
Marvel’s Wolverine releases on TBA for PlayStation 5. Developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Set after a bar brawl in Madripoor, Logan hunts answers with claws and a short temper. The pitch is focused action, smaller than a city‑wide sandbox, with weighty melee, sharp counters, and traversal that favors grounded movement over rooftops. Think close‑quarters fights, tight spaces, and a story that gives the violence context.

Review

Marvel’s Wolverine should work if it stays personal. Insomniac’s best missions build on clean timing and readable animations, and that fits a character who shrugs bullets and solves problems up close. Combat needs bite. Parry a blade, punish with a short flurry, then reposition before the next rush. Claw finishers should end a fight fast, not turn into long theatrics. Level design can carry a lot here. Corridors that breathe into courtyards, bars with breakable cover, back alleys that hide flanks.
The tone matters. Logan is tired more than chatty, so quiet scenes and a tight supporting cast will do more than quips. If gear shows up, it should be light touch, not a color‑coded treadmill. A few optional hunts or contracts could expand the map without losing focus, and boss fights can pressure you with patterns rather than health sponges.
Caveats: no PC page on Steam, no specs, and release window is still unpinned. Expectations are loud after Spider‑Man, and cross‑studio timelines can shift. Even so, the ingredients line up. Strong animations, reactive audio, and a combat loop that rewards patience over mash.
Verdict: keep it sharp and grounded, and this could be Insomniac at its most confident.
