ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN
ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN released on May 29, 2025 for PC (Steam), PlayStation, and Xbox. Developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. A standalone spin within the Elden Ring world, it trades the lone Tarnished vibe for co‑op expeditions that reset each night. You pick a hero, pair abilities, and push into shifting zones while a creeping night closes in. Runs are short and tense, built around timing, positioning, and quick calls.
Deluxe Edition — what’s included
- Base game
- Additional DLC with extra playable characters and bosses (scheduled by the publisher)
- Digital Artbook & Mini Soundtrack
Review

NIGHTREIGN works when you lean into team play. Each hero pushes a role, and the best runs read like clean improvisation. A shield holds aggro for five seconds, a projectile builds status, then a heavy lands the finisher. The night pushes you forward, so detours carry risk. You feel it when greed turns a near‑perfect route into a scramble. Bosses hit hard, but patterns read fair once you settle on a caller and stick to short comms.
Builds have teeth. Relic combos change how you move, and the draft before a run becomes its own little puzzle. Between expeditions you tune kits, test synergies, and watch damage profiles shift as patches land. Presentation favors clarity, not clutter. Animations sell impact and make tells readable in co‑op chaos.
Caveats: at launch, cross‑play was missing and two‑player support arrived later. Matchmaking still depends on population and region settings, and some GPUs needed driver updates in early patches. Even so, the loop is strong. Grab two friends, set a goal, and try to beat the night before it swallows the map.
Verdict: sharp, team‑first action that rewards quick reads and cleaner calls.
