MISERY works when a squad plays quiet and thinks ahead. Raids are compact problems. You check dosimeter ticks, watch stress, and map safe paths with flares. Combat is scrappy, not heroic. A clean burst from a battered rifle, a shove to escape a grab, then a sprint through wind that eats your stamina. Most runs end because you got greedy or loud, which teaches the right lesson. Artifacts add a fun edge case rhythm. You weigh a strange buff against an extra kilogram of risk and your pack already hurts.

The bunker loop is the glue. Rooms matter, from power and grow beds to a bar that turns loot into gear and gossip. Crafting reads clear, upgrades feel earned, and the place looks lived in by the time you name your favorite chair. Presentation is strong for the scale. Wet streets glow, radios hiss, and the Zone feels like it wants you gone without shouting.

Caveats: AI can wig out around anomalies, and early patches will juggle balance as players break routes. Solo is viable but slower, and first boots may stutter while shaders warm. Still, the sine wave of risk and relief lands. Plan the route, argue about a shortcut, and make the door as the siren starts.
