Nivalis Nights shifts the cyberpunk setting away from gunfights and toward the ordinary work of building a life. The central business loop begins with small food operations before expanding into restaurants and nightclubs. Ingredients can be purchased or grown, while daily decisions determine whether time is spent improving a venue, meeting residents, or exploring the city.
Relationships appear closely connected to progression. Friends, rivals, employees, and potential partners carry their own stories, giving social choices consequences beyond filling a friendship meter. Players can also sabotage competing businesses during curfew, adding a less respectable route to commercial success.
The city provides several ways to step away from management. Boats connect its districts, fishing offers a quieter activity, and apartments can be purchased and decorated. Minigames and a high-stakes cyberpunk chess tournament introduce additional distractions without pushing the experience toward conventional combat.
ION LANDS’ voxel-based presentation remains the immediate attraction. Neon signs, heavy rain, elevated streets, crowded interiors, and a city stretching from the ocean to the clouds give everyday routines a striking backdrop. The weather system should also help districts feel less static.
The broad mixture of business management, relationships, decorating, and exploration creates a risk that individual systems may lack depth. Its slower pace may also disappoint players expecting another action-heavy cyberpunk game.
