The Legacy works because survival choices carry weight. You pack light to keep stamina high, then regret leaving a pot behind when the temperature swings. Hunting and fishing are not filler, they are plan B when the store runs dry. The map sells scale without wasting your time. Villages, bunkers, forest clearings, each with notes that hint at routes and weird threats. Combat is messy by design. A cracked shotgun, a knife that buys space, a sprint that barely makes a treeline.
Co‑op helps more than it hurts. One player builds, another scouts, a third keeps the fire and the packs sorted. Voice chat matters. A quick call about weather or a trail of footprints saves hours.
