Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village launched on May 7, 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia, later reaching macOS, PlayStation VR2, iOS, and Nintendo Switch via cloud version. It was developed and published by Capcom. Ethan Winters heads into a frozen European backwater to find his daughter, only to face four ruling lords and a village that feels cursed to the bone. The campaign shifts between tight horror corridors and louder firefights, with a central hub that opens new paths as you collect keys and tools. Money, upgrades, and crafting keep guns flexible, while RE Engine art sells every creak and shadow.

Review

Village works because it moves. The opening leans on dread and audio stings, then action takes the wheel without losing its teeth. Shotguns slam, the magnum is pure payoff, and enemy reactions make headshots feel earned. Level variety helps a lot: Castle Dimitrescu rewards map knowledge, House Beneviento is a nasty little mood piece, and the factory pulls you into a steel maze of conveyors and traps. It looks great and runs well on mid‑range PCs with a few settings tweaks.
There are bumps. Performance can dip during heavy effect storms, and the final act sprints when you want a little more buildup. Still, the Winters’ add‑ons round out the package and third‑person mode is a smart way to replay.
Verdict: stylish, sharp, and easy to recommend, especially in Gold Edition.
