Review

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road works when you read the pitch like a puzzle. Passing lanes matter more than raw stats, and special moves buy space rather than free goals. Story mode keeps things light, pushing you through rival teams and short arcs that make recruits feel earned. Exhibition and online modes help the roster breathe, especially if tournaments rotate rules to surface weird squads.
Controls aim for clarity. Simple inputs, then layers for tricks you care about, with room to cancel and feint. The camera sits where you need it, close enough to read tackles, wide enough to see an overlap forming. Building squads is half the fun. Chemistry gives small bumps, set pieces become little labs, and a player with the right trait turns a routine cross into a plan.
Caveats: platform timing outside Switch is still a question, and balance will swing as patches land. Expect some grind if you chase every recruit, and online play lives or dies on matchmaking. Even with those caveats, the shape is right. Quick matches, loud moments, and a team that feels yours.
Verdict: lively, readable arcade football with room to experiment.
