FIRE STATE enters Early Access on July 31, 2026, for PC. Developed and published by UNDER FIRE, this first-person tactical shooter presents its battles through a realistic body-camera perspective. Review

FIRE STATE uses its body-camera presentation to make familiar multiplayer gunfights feel less predictable. The restricted field of view, strong camera movement, environmental audio, and realistic visual treatment create pressure even before another player appears. Corridors and doorways become difficult to read, while sudden movement at the edge of the frame can turn a routine advance into a short and violent encounter.
The developers are attempting to balance that realism with conventional shooter controls. Weapons need to feel heavy and dangerous without making aiming unnecessarily awkward. Ballistic behavior, physical feedback, and detailed sound design support the simulation side, while a simplified interface keeps essential information accessible during combat.
Early Access launches around competitive multiplayer. Team Deathmatch offers the most direct fighting, while Zone Control and Demolition should reward positioning and coordinated pushes. The planned cooperative campaign has greater potential for deliberate room clearing and team communication, but it is not part of the initial core package.
The use of real-time 3D Gaussian Splatting gives FIRE STATE a notable technical identity. Environments can look unusually detailed and photographic, although that style must remain readable when lighting, movement, and visual noise overlap.
The Early Access scope is the clearest caveat. Maps, weapons, modes, performance, and overall polish are still being expanded. Its realistic camera effects may also cause discomfort for players sensitive to heavy motion.
Verdict: A technically distinctive bodycam shooter with tense close-range battles, though its Early Access launch remains focused on a relatively limited competitive foundation.
