ATMOSFAR launches in Early Access on May 20, 2026 on PC. Developed by Apog Labs and published by SHUEISHA GAMES, it’s a sky-high survival odyssey set on floating islands, where your “base” is a massive mobile airship and your problem is everything else. You fly solo or in co-op, scavenge scrap, build and upgrade vessels, and drag your airborne home across an open world that’s built to make travel feel adventurous instead of convenient.

Review
ATMOSFAR is selling a fantasy that survival games don’t hit often enough: movement as progression. Instead of settling into one valley and optimizing it forever, you’re meant to roam, hauling your home with you and treating the sky like a highway. That’s a strong hook because it naturally creates goals. You don’t just gather resources to stockpile them. You gather because you want better engines, better tools, better range, and fewer moments where you’re stranded and staring at the horizon.
The flying craft layer also gives co-op real meaning. A squad can split responsibilities in a way that feels organic, one person scouts, one handles building, one manages upgrades, another deals with survival chores. The trick is keeping those jobs fun and not turning “base management” into slow downtime. A mobile airship is only exciting if the game keeps giving you reasons to move it.
Early Access is where the risk sits. Open-world survival games can feel empty if their worlds aren’t dense with points of interest, and crafting can turn into busywork if the UI and recipes aren’t clean. The other concern is readability while flying. When you’re navigating islands and altitude, the game needs clear feedback about danger, weather, and threats, or players will die in ways that feel cheap.
If ATMOSFAR nails its world density and keeps the airship loop satisfying, it has a chance to feel genuinely fresh in a crowded genre.
Verdict: A survival game with a strong “mobile base” identity, with Early Access success depending on world density, clean crafting flow, and flight that stays readable under pressure.
