Review

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 expands squads from three to four players, giving each mission more room for specialized roles. Classes carry distinct abilities and tactical purposes, so successful teams need to coordinate crowd control, damage, support, and defensive positioning rather than simply bringing four similar weapon builds.
The Specialist is the most flexible addition. It can combine primary and secondary abilities taken from the available classes, allowing players to cover a missing role or create a hybrid build. Broader weapon and equipment customization adds another layer, while pyrotechnic and electrical ammunition provide ways to slow or thin advancing groups.
Xenomorphs remain dangerous because of their numbers and movement. They can attack from walls, ceilings, corridors, and darker corners, forcing squads to monitor several directions at once. Stun batons provide a desperate close-range option, but most encounters reward controlling the swarm before it reaches the firing line.
Dedicated Horde maps launch alongside the campaign. Enemy waves grow increasingly difficult while rewards improve, creating a straightforward test of team composition and endurance. Solo play remains available with AI companions, although the expanded four-person design will depend heavily on competent bot behavior.
The sequel risks feeling repetitive when missions rely too often on holding rooms against waves. Its success will depend on enemy variety, objective design, and whether smarter Xenomorphs genuinely change tactics rather than simply increasing pressure.
Verdict: A broader and more flexible cooperative sequel with larger squads, stronger class customization, and the overwhelming Xenomorph battles the series handles best.
