Hell Let Loose: Vietnam
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launches August 13, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by Black Matter and Team17 and published by Team17, it drags the series’ big-scale, squad-led chaos into Vietnam with jungle sightlines, tighter ambush angles, and a different kind of pressure than open European fields. The pitch is the same harsh team game, comms, roles, logistics, and coordinated pushes, but the setting changes the feel: visibility is worse, sound matters more, and you’re never fully sure what’s sitting ten meters into the treeline.

Review

Hell Let Loose has always been about friction. It’s not a shooter you play for clean highlight reels. You play it for the uneasy teamwork, the slow crawl of a frontline, and the moments where one good squad decision flips a whole sector. Vietnam is a smart place to take that formula because the environment naturally adds uncertainty. Dense foliage and harsher sightlines make positioning feel more important and mistakes more expensive.
The best matches in HLL happen when roles actually matter. Spotters and leaders calling angles, engineers building what keeps a push alive, support keeping supplies moving, armor and infantry coordinating instead of doing separate wars. If Vietnam keeps that structure intact while changing the tempo, it can feel fresh without abandoning what the series is.
The big question is readability. Jungle combat can easily turn into “I died to a pixel.” The game needs strong audio cues, clear suppression feedback, and map design that still creates learnable lanes even when the visuals are messy by nature. The other concern is pacing. If matches become too bogged down in stalemates, players will bounce. If they become too fast, the game loses its identity.
Verdict: A strong setting choice for Hell Let Loose’s squad warfare, with success depending on whether jungle combat stays readable and role-driven instead of devolving into random deaths in green noise.
