Review

Rogue Shift understands the fantasy of metal‑on‑metal violence. Cars handle with weight and enough drift to feel unruly without losing control, and the weapon mix pushes constant decisions between rams, side‑swipes, and clean shots. The roguelite layer adds structure: runs chart through a node map of events, shops, and elites, with permanent unlocks nudging you toward crazier synergies. Nightfall changes the board, forcing sharper lines and rewarding risk with bigger payouts.
Performance holds up under thick crowds, and the destruction model sells impacts with crumpling panels and shearing doors. The pacing can wobble if early RNG starves you of weapons or armor, and some weather presets cut visibility more than they help atmosphere. Still, the core loop of smash, scavenge, upgrade, and sprint to the next arena stays tight.
Verdict
A punchy, modern Carmageddon that feeds the urge to crash and grind through escalating night runs.
