Review

ATS nails the rhythm of long drives and small wins. The handling is weighty but approachable, so a good downshift before a grade or a clean back‑in still feels earned. What keeps it engaging is growth. You start as a driver for hire, then stack contracts, buy your first rig, hire staff, and watch a modest garage turn into a network. Map DLCs add real variety, from open desert to dense forests and big‑city interchanges, and SCS’ reworks keep older states from feeling flat.
It is a sim that respects time. You can run a short job after dinner or set a longer route and let the miles and radio do their work. Steering wheel support is deep, though a pad works fine with a few tweaks. The caveats are familiar. AI traffic still fumbles edge cases, and rain and night driving can tax older PCs if you max the settings. Even so, the package is easy to recommend to anyone who likes a calm loop with clear progression and an ever‑growing map.
Verdict
The definitive chill drive on PC, steadily expanded with states, cargo, and trucks.
