Following Seas launches on November 21, 2025 for PC (Steam). It is developed and published by Whipstaff Games. A survival sim on unforgiving waters, it blends cargo runs, fishing, and open‑sea navigation with detailed ship management, from trimming sails and balancing ballast to reading the stars and riding out storms across a collapsing archipelago.

Review

Following Seas treats the ship as the main character. Wind, ballast, and hull stress define your toolkit, so every voyage becomes a puzzle about heading, speed, and safety. The sim‑lite approach reads clearly, with hands‑on sail controls and tools like the compass and chronometer grounding each decision. Routing cargo between scattered islands gives purpose to long stretches, and weather turns routine trips into tense sprints to shelter. The art leans atmospheric more than flashy, which suits the lonely tone. Audio sells the sea, creaks, rushes, and the drum of rain on deck.

There are caveats. Systems can feel austere, and early progress relies on patience with tutorials and practice. The demo suggests performance is stable, though heavy storms and flooding can nudge mid‑range GPUs. If you want a nautical loop where planning matters more than markers, this looks well aimed.

Verdict
A readable, hands‑on sailing sim where smart seamanship wins the day.
