Europa Universalis 5 is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2025, exclusively for PC via Steam, with Standard and Premium editions already up for pre-purchase at $59.99 and $84.99 respectively.
Right now, the Steam store page does not show the usual line “Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper”, nor any other third-party DRM notice beyond the standard Paradox EULA. That means there is no official confirmation that Europa Universalis 5 will ship with Denuvo at launch. As always, this could change closer to release, but at the moment the storefront only mentions Steam plus a third-party EULA, not extra DRM.
For PC players who worry about heavy-handed protection, this matches Paradox’s recent history: series like Europa Universalis IV and Crusader Kings III have typically relied on Steam + Paradox account without Denuvo listed, and are often cited as running without intrusive third-party DRM when launched directly. That doesn’t rule anything out for EU5, but it does explain why many fans currently expect a similar approach.
