Hitman: World of Assassination
Hitman: World of Assassination launched on January 20, 2021 as Hitman 3 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch via cloud. In 2023, IO Interactive folded Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 content into the package. It is developed and published by IO Interactive. Agent 47’s maps are dense social spaces with routines, disguises, and traps that pay off when you plan ahead. You decide the kill: poison, accidents, or public mischief. Freelancer mode adds a roguelite layer where gear and risk carry between runs.

Review

World of Assassination remains the best stealth sandbox because everything reads clearly. Dubai, Dartmoor, and Berlin give you breadcrumbs to follow, but they also leave room to improvise. Disguises push you to poke at the simulation, and the reactions feel fair once you learn the rules. It leans on planning and timing rather than twitch skill, which keeps tension high even after you know the routes. Performance is solid on mid‑range PCs and IO keeps trickling new modes and contracts.
Caveats are minor. Huge crowds can tax CPUs, and the learning curve can bounce off new players before it clicks. When it does, it’s hard to put down.
Verdict: the definitive stealth sandbox, endlessly replayable.
