Neon Inferno releases on October 28, 2025 (postponed to November 20th) for PC (Steam). Developed by Valkyrie Vertex and published by Devolver Digital. A top‑down action roguelite set in a city that melts every night. You thread alleys, bank dashes, and chain abilities that turn skirmishes into quick blowouts. Between runs you tune chips, unlock weapons, and push districts that remix hazards and enemy types.

Review

Neon Inferno clicks when you stop hoarding cooldowns and start spending. Mobility is king. A clean dash through a wall of bullets opens a route, a well‑timed slam resets a pack, and status effects soft‑lock brutes just long enough to cash out damage. Arenas are small, readable boxes with pop‑up cover and traps that reward risk. You see an angle, take it, and either wipe the screen or eat pavement.
The meta layer sticks because it moves fast. Chips slot in clean, synergies advertise themselves, and the armory grows in a way that nudges experimentation. District mutators keep you honest, changing enemy resistances and adding hazards that force different lines. Presentation is loud but legible. Neon glow, crunchy hits, and a soundtrack that pushes you forward.
Caveats: late‑game runs could snowball if a few combos overperform, and repetition will creep in if new districts do not land quickly. Performance should be light on mid PCs, though first boots may hitch while shaders cache. Even so, the feel is there. Dash, commit, and ride the chaos.
Verdict: fast, readable action with builds that beg for one more run.
