Tavern Keeper releases on November 3, 2025 for PC (Steam). Developed and published by Greenheart Games. You run a fantasy tavern that swings between cosy and chaotic. Hire staff, juggle stock, fix leaks, and rearrange half the room because a noble wants privacy tonight. Design Mode lets you craft furniture from pieces, share blueprints, and turn a simple inn into a loud, messy business you care about.

Review

Tavern Keeper is about rhythm more than micromanagement. A good night feels like a song: kitchen on beat, taps steady, floor staff timing their loops so tables never sit empty. The writing leans warm with a dry edge, which helps scenes breathe between busy rushes. When it clicks, you stop firefighting and start planning. Shift the menu, hire a weird specialist, then rebuild a corner to fix traffic.
The decoration sandbox is the hook. Not just pretty, but useful. A bench placed one tile off can create a lasting choke point, and a well‑lit path cuts accidents in half. The campaign sprinkles story choices and gives room to tinker, while Freeplay is there for long hauls. It feels crafted, not bloated.
Caveats: on Steam, the System Requirements list CPU and GPU as TBC, so expect updates close to launch. Very dense rooms may nibble at frames on mid rigs, and controller support is still a question. Even so, the bones are strong. Serve, tweak, and enjoy when a packed room hums instead of howls.
Verdict: cosy management with a powerful build sandbox that rewards small improvements.
