Yooka-Replaylee releases on October 9, 2025 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Playtonic Games and published by PM Studios, Inc. with Playtonic Friends. This is a rebuilt take on the 2017 collectathon, with sharper moves, a cleaned up camera, more story beats, and more than double the Pagies to chase. You pop into hub zones, crack open larger worlds, and hunt secrets that bend routes in small, satisfying ways. Rextro even gets his own playable side game, a clever detour when you want a different rhythm.

Review

Yooka-Replaylee clicks because movement finally feels punchy. The whip‑tail into glide chains clean, the new combos cover gaps, and the camera behaves when you need a tight landing. Worlds are colorful without hiding reads. A path curves off to a ledge, a suspicious wall begs a poke, and the notebook makes fast travel and tracking feel like help, not hand‑holding. Rextro’s isometric stages break the pace just enough before you jump back into platforming.
Progression nudges you to revisit zones, not grind them flat. Rearranged collectibles change lines you thought you knew, and Q.U.I.D.S. give light metagame choices at Vendi. The orchestral soundtrack does a lot of lifting, with familiar themes dressed up so they hit fresh. It is a warm remake, not a museum piece.
Caveats: the humor still leans corny, and some challenges repeat a touch across worlds. On PC the first boot may stutter as shaders build, and a controller is the way to go. None of this kills the pull. You line up a glide, snag a Pagey by a hair, and immediately spot the next breadcrumb.
Verdict: bright, better‑feeling platforming that rewards curiosity over checklisting.
