Total War: WARHAMMER III
Total War: WARHAMMER III released on February 16, 2022 for PC (Windows), with macOS and Linux ports by Feral Interactive. Developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA. It closes the trilogy with the Realm of Chaos campaign, new launch factions like Kislev and Grand Cathay, and the later, massive Immortal Empires sandbox that stitches all three games into one map. You balance turn‑based empire work with real‑time battles, juggling corruption, rifts, and Legendary Lords whose skills twist economy and war plans in different ways.

Review

Total War: WARHAMMER III hits a better stride than it did at launch. The Realm of Chaos questlines are still a taste thing, but Immortal Empires fixes the pacing for most players. The map is huge, borders are messy, and the opening moves feel like a knife fight instead of a straight sprint to victory conditions. Faction mechanics push you to play their story. Kislev thrives on devotion and layered rosters, Cathay leans on harmony and reliable gunlines, while the Chaos powers tempt you into greedy raids that can pay off or wreck a front.
Battles read clean once you settle on camera habits. Big units have presence, infantry holds if you support them, and magic finally feels like a real lever rather than a coin flip. Sieges are still busy, yet the ongoing iterations made them less maze‑like. Multiplayer is sturdier too, with Domination keeping sets shorter and less snowbally. Presentation stays loud in the right ways, from monster animations to the sound of artillery ripping through a flank.
Caveats: DLC cadence has been uneven, and prices sparked backlash that the team has tried to answer with fatter updates. Performance is fine on mid PCs if you rein in unit size and shadows, but late‑game pathfinding can wobble with giant stacks. Even so, the pull remains simple. Pick a lord, pick a grudge, and watch a corner of the map become yours.
Verdict: sprawling strategy that sings in Immortal Empires, still clunky at the edges but hard to put down.
