Ninja Gaiden 4
Ninja Gaiden 4 arrives on 21 October 2025 on PC (Steam, Xbox PC), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Team Ninja and PlatinumGames co-developed this long-awaited sequel, published by Xbox Game Studios. You control both Ryu Hayabusa and a new playable ninja, Yakumo of the Raven Clan. Yakumo wields two styles: swift, aerial “Raven” moves and broad-reaching “Nué” attacks. The game preserves the series’ dark, fast-paced action while evolving its combat with new forms and intensity. It’s available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Review
Ninja Gaiden 4 picks up the pace from day one. You switch between Ryu’s precise strikes and Yakumo’s aggressive Raven or sweeping Nué styles, depending on the enemy and pace of the fight. Combat lands hard. Aerial flips, spinning slashes, and sudden counters keep you alert.
The world is less open and more structured—levels designed for speed and finding rhythm. In that, a stealth-based moment gives way to a flurry of demon chaos in seconds. Enemies respond smartly. One hit often sends you sprawling, so timing and positioning feel satisfying, not cheap. The duo dynamic gives variety—Ryu’s feel is classic, Yakumo feels fresh.
Graphics stand out for a ninja game. Shadows and demon gore pop at night, especially in neon Tokyo streets. On PC, it runs solid—60 FPS is easily within reach if you’ve got mid-range hardware. Still, texture streaming needs tuning in some busy fights. And the difficulty curve is steep—this isn’t a forgiving ninja story, it’s a hardcore gaiden.
Verdict: Ninja Gaiden 4 lives up to its legacy. Fast, sharp, and intense—this is classic Gaiden action revitalized.
