Tormented Souls 2 releases on October 23, 2025 for PC (Steam). Developed by Dual Effect and published by PQube. Caroline Walker leaves Wildberger behind for Villa Hess, a mountain town in southern Chile that looks calm until the lights drop. Fixed cameras return, puzzles ask for close inspection, and combat leans on improvised tools: a nailer, a chainsaw, a few ugly contraptions that need careful positioning. There is reality shifting too, past and present folding into each other to open routes or twist a scene.

Review

Tormented Souls 2 plays like a modern throwback that knows why the old format works. Rooms are framed to build tension, not just to hide enemies. You check a shelf, rotate a strange key, then realize the answer was on the painting you walked past ten minutes ago. Combat stays deliberate. Shots matter, spacing matters, and quick‑select keeps swaps tidy when panic hits. The town helps, a spread of locations that feel distinct: a convent with bad echoes, a dead mall, an abandoned school with too many lockers.
The best beats are small. A locked cabinet that finally opens because you noticed a torn symbol on a sign. A door that creaks just enough to make you hesitate. Audio carries weight, from distant metal clanks to the ugly thud when something drops behind you. Performance on PC should be friendly if you respect settings, though first boots can stutter while shaders settle.
Caveats: tank controls remain an option, which some will bounce off, and a few puzzles will read obtuse if you rush. Expect a couple of stiff animations in crowded fights. Even with the quirks, the rhythm lands. Slow, strange, and confident about it.
Verdict: classic survival horror pacing with cleaner tools and a town worth getting lost in.
